Everywhere in the world women live longer than men - but this was not always the case. The available data from rich countries shows that women didn't live longer than men in the 19th century. What is the reason women live more than men do today, and why have these advantages gotten bigger over time? The evidence is sketchy and we're only able to provide partial solutions. Although we know that there are biological, behavioral and environmental factors that all play a role in women living longer than men, we do not know what percentage each factor العاب زوجية (More Help) plays in.

Independently of the exact amount of weight, we are aware that at least part of the reason women live so much longer than men in the present but not previously, has to be due to the fact that certain significant non-biological elements have changed. What are these factors that have changed? Some are well known and relatively straightforward, like the fact that men smoke more often. Certain are more complicated. For example, there is evidence that in rich countries the female advantage increased in part because infectious diseases used to affect women disproportionately a century ago, so advances in medicine that reduced the long-term health burden from infectious diseases, especially for survivors, ended up raising women's longevity disproportionately.

The first chart below shows life expectancy at birth for men and women. We can see that all countries are above the line of parity diagonally. This implies that a baby girl in all countries can be expected to live for العاب زوجية longer than her brothers.

The chart below shows that although there is a women's advantage throughout the world, the differences between countries could be significant. In Russia, women live 10 years more than males. In Bhutan there is a difference of less than half a calendar year.

Let's look at how female longevity advantage has changed over time. The next chart compares the life expectancy of males and females when they were born in the US during the time period between 1790 and 2014. Two areas stand out.

There is an upward trend. Women and men living in America are living longer than they used to a century ago. This is in line with historical increases in life expectancy everywhere in the world.

And second, there is a widening gap: The female advantage in life expectancy used be very small but it increased substantially in the past century.
